Busy-ness

Is being busy your way of coping? It is for so many of us.

If you think it might be, the thing to think about is maybe what is the thing you are scared of thinking - what would come up if you stopped for a moment.

Constant music, podcasts, texting and messaging, always up to date on social media.

Is there something you don't want to come into your head so you don't give it space or silence?

There may not be of course! It may just be that we are surrounded by people who say how busy they are as if it is a form of success. You may be trying to keep up with them perhaps.

It may be worth thinking about whether they are telling the truth. Maybe they aren't as busy as they say, or perhaps they themselves are running away from quiet space and consequently making being busy something to aspire to.

It's about you. About whether you are noticing that you are filling space on purpose and wish you weren't.

It's about whether you want to give yourself quiet space to let the thing you're worrying about out into the light to evaporate - not easy but, if you do so, you may find yourself lighter
